A society is an association of persons united together by mutual consent to deliberate, determine and act jointly for same common purposes. As per the Societies Registration Act, 1860, a society can be formed by minimum seven (maximum 21) persons, eligible to enter into contract, for different purposes like Grant of Charitable Assistance; creation of fund and promotion of science, literature, knowledge, education etc.
